Some of you may already be aware that the Township is purchasing a new Firetruck. This truck will be replacing our two oldest trucks that are close to 25 years old.
Our new Sutphen Pumper/Tanker will cost $838,890.35. The Township Board decided to use our American Recovery Plan Act monies ($620,057.00) toward this purchase, along with $190,084.00, from the Fire Equipment Fund and then the final $28,749.00 from the Landfill Impact Fund. This piece of equipment will serve the community for years to come.
The Montrose Township Master Plan is almost complete. Final approval will probably take place at the February 2023 Township Board meeting, However, in the interim time period the Planning Commission will be working on the Solar & Wind energy ordinances.
The Township is starting the renewal process of the Township Recreation Plan. It doesn’t expire until the end of 2023, but we want your input so that we make the right decisions on our approach to the future of Montrose Township and be in a position to apply for additional grant funding if we are not successful with the upcoming Sparks Grant. Our goal is to bring a few more amenities to Barber Park. Let’s hope for the best in 2023!
